The Good, The Bad, The Questionable...

So TNA Wrestling scored one of the highest ratings they have ever done last night with the big 3-3-11 announcement. The show was decent. Now there were a lot of good, a lot of questionable things & a lot of bad. But that is how the wrestling world is. I mean think about it, lately they have been a lot of hit or miss stuff. With that said I will run down all in a few minutes, so bare with me.

THE GOOD:

1. Bringing back Sting. Now I am not a fan of how it was done, as reference a few times in the last week by way of Twitter, YouTube, & the Billionaire blog site, but having him come back is key. Now I know that I have said many times over the last few years that I hate these guys trying to keep a hold on their legend by staying in the ring. But for TNA, they kind of need Sting. Hogan has done nothing to help them in the ratings. Everyone knew Sting was coming back, so people tuned in. But Hogan came back to, so I guess you can argue that point.

2. Beer Money. Best tag team in the world that doesn’t work for ROH. Now Gunner & Murphy are still green as a tag team in TNA. But they impressed me. Even though that wasn’t a ppv match, TNA was on the road for a TV taping. The whole night was big. It HAD to go good. Plus Robert Roode & James Storm are good enough they could make anyone look good.

3. Setting up Ink Inc vs. Beer Money at the Victory Road ppv. A few weeks out, they needed to set up something.

4. Dixie did a good job at making the fans hate EB & Immortal by being emotional. It’s no secret that Dixie has never wanted to be an on air talent. But she is pretty much stuck by having to do it. It is essential. Prays off human emotion which is always good in professional wrestling. Argue that!

5. Hogan & Anderson’s backstage segment was epic. It was well done. Kind of gave me goose bumps because Ken was so emotional. Making the title the top priority should be the main focus of both companies. Or hell any company for that matter.

The Questionable:

1. Having Matt Morgan & Hernandez go as long as they did just to have a disqualification. These two guys could have a monster feud. No doubt about it. They could honestly use this as a #1 contender’s type of feud. Without that though, they could still make it special. Probably more so.

2. No Madison Rayne. Let’s face it that was a big show. They have spent a lot of time around putting Madison over as the Knockouts Champ, which I love. I think she is doing a great job. And I think TNA is doing a great job to help make her career.

3. Doing the wedding twice wasn’t great. If they were going to have Kurt mess things up, it should have been done once during the ceremony. Screw everything up, which we all knew was going to happen anyway. Why do it twice?

The Bad:

1. Too much going on backstage. This is time that needs to be dedicated to more in ring time. At least on theses big shows.

2. Mike Tenay. Just not a fan. Gets on my nerves way too much.

3. No X Division match. They were going to build Victory Road around the X Division. Yet when Gen Me had travel problems, I guess that whole idea got nixed. Maybe they should do a free for all in the X Division at the ppv. Would be nice.

4. The Velvet Sky/Sarita angle was way too hot to have it be a 3 or 4 minute match. With Velvet’s career on the line, that match should have been a lot longer with a lot of added drama to it. It just ended way to suddenly. It was the worst thing about the whole show for me.

5. No ppv hype. See my biggest problem with TNA is that they always give too much away at these Impact tapings. They look like they mean more than the ppv’s. I mean who is going to pay $40 for a ppv when the bigger show is on TV for free? I’m not. Anyone that does is kind of dumb. They need to focus more on making these ppv’s mean more by not giving away so much on TV for free. Think about it. That’s not smart business. It is why I firmly believe that TNA is going to be out of business before the end of the year.

6. Bart Scott from the Jets & Angelina from the Jersey Shore. Horrible. TNA is reaching now. Not good. Trying to get to many people to come in cause they can’t draw ratings with what they are doing with their own product alone.

Now another thing I wanted to add, Dixie did an interview the other day on an internet radio show hyping the show on Thursday. She said that she knew that taking Impact on the road was the next step in the evolution of TNA. Problem is she said it is too expensive to do so. Also their shows have not drawn even close to what they need to. So I can understand her being hesitant. She said she wants to run this company where it is alive in 10-20 years down the road. But you see if you don’t grow then it won’t be able to. Going on the road with Impact is a risk she needs to take. They just need to cut back. There are ways it can be done within a budget. They just need to cut back on a few things. Don’t use fireworks every week. Make a plan of who you are going to use in advance & stick to it. That way people aren’t coming to where ever on your dime & just sitting around for nothing. Plus I’m sure there are several things they could do if they wanted to. I really think they are scared to pull the trigger on anything right now. Maybe in the summer they will feel better doing it. But they are going to have to capitalize on that 1.4 rating they got last night…

Bret vs Hogan

Bret "the Hitman" Hart & Hulk Hogan are two of the most notably famous wrestlers ever. Even people who are not wrestling fans know who both men are. But let's be honest, probably Hogan more. Now these two have a storied career, but not with each other. Not in the ring anyway. As many of you probably know by now they have been having a war of words on Twitter the last few days & of course it is making news online. Why wouldn't it? Two of the most well known wrestlers ever, some say two of the greatest, it should make news.

Bret Hart was holding kind of a Q&A through his Twitter, answering fans questions with no limitations on what he cold say. Bret was asked about TNA & said he would have Hogan & Bischoff tar & feathered. Which is funny, but not the point. He was then asked specifically asked about Hogan & said this: "Hogan's nothing but a two-faced, backstabbing, steroid freak who deserved everything he got." Of course the all mighty Hulk Hogan with the largest pythons in the world, lol, wasn't going to take that. He replied: "Listen to where Bretts speaking from,it's funny he's done everything he's saying I did." Now my reading of that is funny cause I would trust Bret's character over Hogan's any day of the week. I know way to much about both men to see it any differently. Bret replied with the following: "@HulkHogan4Real That's not what John Graziano thinks, dickhead."

Now I can pinpoint this hatred all the way back to one incident. Wrestlemania IX. Bret was the champ & there was great build up for his match with the late Yokozuna. And it was a decent match for what is was. Yoko was the first man to win the Rumble & go on to WM to face the champion. He also beat Bret & won the title. But then there was Hogan. Claimed on TV to be best friends as both were face & the evil Mr. Fuji invited Hogan in the ring to challenge for the belt. Then he won it in like less than a minute. Big leg drop & that was it. (Looking back I can see why that WM is considered one of the worst. Just for that.)

It was all set up, supposedly, for Hogan & Bret to do battle at that year's Sumerslam & Hogan was going to pass the torch if you will to the Hitman. I say supposedly cause I read that on wikipedia about 2 years ago & have no clue how true it was. It might be in Bret's book, which I still can't find a copy of around here. Guess I need to order it. (Bret if you read this, send me one. I need to read it.)

Then Hogan went on a radio show years later & talked about the Montreal Screwjob, which has been made famous on YouTube. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV6mf9ijX8s

Now only time will tell how Hogan's stay in TNA Wrestling plays out. For the first year he has been there, they really haven't done anything. Most of the story lines have been bad & most things they do don't make sense. As least to me. But then again, what do I know? A lot. I'm smart. Only because of the vast research I have done on the wrestling business. But that will probably still be argued by everyone until the end of time. Or till I die. Which ever comes first...

Melo, Melo, Melo-drama!

Well here we are, the All Star Break & still have no idea on how this Carmelo Anthony trade is going to go down. So, I figured I would take a shot at it. Now remember, I am a Denver Nuggets fan & more importantly a Carmelo Anthony fan, so this might come off as a little biased. But those who know me know I could careless. Let's move on.

Carmelo Anthony started out the season like he has over the last 7 years as a member of the Denver Nuggets. This time was different though. He was unhappy & wanted out. He demanded to be traded & looked to New York as his place of destination. Now we are all sick of the Melo drama by now, so I'm just gonna bore you here with more facts. Cause as always, facts are what tell the story.

Here is what a Denver/New Jersey trade would like when everything was said & done.
Nets get:
  • Anthony
  • Billups
  • Williams
  • M. Ely
  • R. Balkman
Now the Nuggets would get in this trade:
  • D. Harris
  • D. Favors
  • T. Murphy
  • B. Uzoh
  • 4 1st Round Draft Picks
Of course this trade only works if Melo signs that 3 year $65 Million Contract Extension. This scenario works on many levels for the Nuggets. They are taking all of New Jersey's shooters & more plus taking 4 1st round draft picks the Nets have acquired this season. Looks good huh? Nets may have be willing to give them up getting Melo, Billups & Williams who could be a great big man in the league with the right tools worked on. However, think about Melo for a minute. Just look at this trade & tell me how things would look for Melo. In my opinion, he should just stay where he is, cause the Nets would still have to rebuild the whole team to even try to compete. Moving on.

Now the Knicks. This is the trade that a lot of people want to see happen. I know one New Yorker who would love it matter of fact. But the trade looks off a bit. But let's look at it.
Knicks would get:
  • Anthony
  • Billups
  • And other role players (Your guess is as good as mine)
And the Nuggets would look like this:
  • R. Felton
  • D. Gallinari
  • W. Chandler
  • E. Curry
  • A 1st Round Draft Pick
Now this trade also looks good for Denver. But think again if Melo was to go. Unless the Nuggets was to send Afflalo or maybe Lawson to New York with them, it doesn't look good for Melo & the new look New York Knicks. Sending your best players, after Amare, away is not going to swoop Melo off his feet. Remember, he is an NBA player. Which means that he eventually wants to compete for a title. But how many years would it take for them to do so if the trade was made. The east is so stacked now, that the Knicks still wouldn't be able to compete, much less beat them in any playoff match up. Celtics, Heat (as bad as I hate to say it), the Bulls & the Magic all would them in any playoff match. Again, I think Melo should just stay put.

Now let me throw on more piece of info out that no one seems to be talking about anymore. Melo's wife, Lala. OH LA LA LA LALA! Just look at that pic & tell me other wise. (Editor's note: Sorry Melo, but given the chance, she could see why my name is Chaos, just saying.) Now she needs to be close to New York. She is an actress & does most of her work outta the city that never sleeps. So think about it. Who's idea REALLY was it for him to leave Denver? If a man is smart, he will make his wife happy. Or be divorced. I've seen it a million times. Trust me. She may not be yelling at him to make the move, but I bet you all of the $65 million that is on the table that she put a bug in his ear. Women are like that. But we all still do what they want & love them anyway. Right?

Melo just needs to think long & hard about how he wants this to end. And it needs to end soon. Fact is, if he doesn't sign with one of these 3 teams before the season is over, he is going to lose out on a LOT of money. With the CBA trying to get players contracts down & no one wanting to budge just yet, the NFL might not be the only sport we have to do without in the fall of 2011. But then again, what do I know? I'm just a mere moral, maybe...

FINALLY!!!! CHAOS IS BACK!!!

As you can see, Chaos is back in the saddle! Been a lot going on since I last blogged, so im gonna try to update everyone on all things.

TNA is still having problems. Like they always have been. This wrestling company has since made a lot of good moves, but a lot of bad ones as well. Including giving a ppv like card free on Spike TV and using the actual ppv to have one last ECW reunion. Im as much a mark as I have always been for ECW, or Extreme Championship Wrestling for those not in the know. But I thought that them giving a ppv devoted to them was bad. But it did work to further a huge storyline involving Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff, so I guess it was actually good in the long run. I still would have done the show & made it DVD only. They would have gotten a lot of money off dvd sales, but anyway. Immortal was born & Jeff Hardy turned on fans for the first time ever, which reminded me of when Hogan did it to form the n.W.o. back in 1996 during the WCW days. It was over then & the idea still works. Still waiting on WWE to do something like that with John Cena.

Which brings me to WWE. John Cena hasn't been the WWE champ for many months now, which is still good for the long term of his career. But they doesn't mean they haven't kept him out of the main events of many ppvs. Randy Orton held the reigns of the WWE title for many months until the Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to grant him a title match. He won the title has been doing a great job with the run so far. Looks as if the reign will last until WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta, but who's really to know for sure.

Strikeforce Challenger Series

Just to give a little info on the tournament that strikeforce is having tomorrow night on the challenger series. The 4 women in question are Miesha "Takedown" Tate, Hitomi Akano, Carina Damm, & Maiju Kujala. Now I do not know much about any of these women, so I did the responsible thing adn did some research on them all. First one I looked into was Miesha Tate.

Now I have seen Miesha fight Sara Kaufman a few months ago from a fight that took place back in may of 09. It was the first time the Kaufman was taken the distance in a fight. Which was pretty awesome. Kaufman is an amazing female fighter & Tate took all she had & wouldn't stay down in the first round. Second round Tate dominated with take downs & wrestling in the cage. Third round Tate tried to keep up the work with the take downs as it worked in the second but she was to tired after the hard work in the fight & Kaufman won by decision. Skip ahead to March of this year when Tate took on Zoila Frausto. Tate had worked more on her standing game, which was obvious in the first round. But the second round Frausto nailed some impressive front kicks. Once it went to the mat it looked to be all but over & it was onloy a matter of time before Tate won it with an armbar. Tate is very impressive & I can't wait to see her fight on Friday night.

Second round of that fight can be see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsHiweANdcM&feature=related

The other 3 fighters were hard to find good, quality fights. Also, the ones I saw, unless I over looked one, were not in English. Of course, I am backing the only American in the tournament. May be biased, but I don't have time to put in the effort like I need to. With the internet being unpredictable, its hard to do a lot of video research, which with MMA is what is best. But still tune in, because im sure it is going to be a hell of a night of action. Should be great.

Also real quick, I started a hashtag on twitter called #ItShouldBeAManLaw. Got the idea from Jimmy Fallon, who is always doing all sorts of different hashtags on twitter. So if you have any good ones, tweet them to the world & try to mention my name @theanswerchaos &/or @jimmyfallon so he will see them & hopefully it will make his show. Would be really awesome if that could happen...
